What We Do
Project LIGHT is dedicated to interrupting the cycle of human trafficking and exploitation. Through prevention, awareness, and strong community partnerships, we work to REACH the vulnerable, RESPOND to exploitation, and RESTORE survivors through connection to care.
Who We Serve
While human trafficking can affect anyone regardless of age, race, or background, our work focuses on those who are most vulnerable: children, displaced youth, and individuals in crisis. We serve these individuals because prevention begins where risk is highest—and because reaching the vulnerable is how we begin to interrupt the cycle of exploitation.
Why it Matters
Exploitation doesn't just damage an individual; it fractures families and weakens the fabric of our entire community.
We do this work because:
1. Prevention is Protection
By identifying vulnerability early, we can stop the cycle before a life is forever changed.
2. No One Should Walk Alone
Survivors often face a gap between crisis and long-term recovery. We help bridge that gap through advocacy, practical support, resource navigation, and connection to trusted care.
3. Our Children Deserve Safety
As exploitation evolves, our defense must evolve with it. We are the shield for the next generation, ensuring our region is a place where every child can grow up safe and free.
Every point of vulnerability is an opportunity for prevention.

Prevention & Education:
Reaching the vulnerable
Preventing exploitation begins with education. Providing evidence-informed training and community awareness programs, Project LIGHT helps individuals recognize the tactics used by traffickers and exploiters, identify vulnerabilities, and respond with confidence. Through presentations for youth, parents, educators, churches, civic groups, businesses, and community organizations, we equip our community to recognize warning signs, reduce risk, and help protect vulnerable individuals before exploitation occurs.
Awareness & Response:
Responding to the exploited
Inspiring awareness and mobilizing communities, Project LIGHT shines a light on the reality that human trafficking and exploitation can happen anywhere—including in our own communities. Through educational events, professional trainings, media outreach, and collaborative partnerships, we empower individuals to recognize warning signs, increase understanding, and become part of the solution to prevent exploitation and support those at risk.
Survivor Support & Resource Connection:
Restoring the survivor
Restoring hope through compassionate, survivor-centered care, Project LIGHT walks alongside survivors by providing advocacy, resource navigation, referrals, and practical support. Through trusted partnerships, we help meet immediate needs while connecting survivors with services that promote safety, healing, stability, and long-term restoration.
